Hundreds of thousands of employees across the U.S. trust Gusto to get paid seamlessly. The Employee Experiences team is on a mission to build new experiences that make employees first-class citizens on the Gusto platform.

Day-to-day, our team of Employee Experiences engineers works full-stack: integrations with payments and payroll teams, monitoring tools for our operations team, and the user experience to deliver those products and ultimately delights our end-users are all part of the team’s responsibilities. Best of all, we’re structured as small cross-functional team, which means a lot of ownership and cooperation with other disciplines.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Work across the stack to architect, test, and develop our first generation of employee products
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders towards quick product iteration
  • Improve Gusto’s engineering practices

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience designing and building systems that scale
  • Passion for engineering best practices such as code quality and automated testing
  • Experience turning wireframes and mockups into elegantly executed code
  • Comfort and experience with building and working with APIs and user interfaces alike
  • Highly collaborative mindset
  • Willingness to be held to a high bar, and reciprocate to others on the team
